Christine Persaud - marketnews.ca - Cyber Monday is the known as the Monday after U.S. Thanksgiving and
Black Friday, a popular shopping day. It's the day when Americans jump
in front of their PCs and take advantage of "hot" online deals.
However, it appears U.S. citizens won't be the only ones logging on
with their credit cards in hand.
According to a study conducted by Visa Canada, 29% of Canadians have
purchased something from an American Website over the past year, and
23% say they plan to do so on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. The average
spend will be $225.50.
However, Canadian retailers and etailers need not fear: if the high
percentage of Canadians shopping from the comfort of their computer
rooms, 48% are indeed looking to Canadian companies for the buys.
